  • greg & laura. married in kansas city.

When I sat down with Greg & Laura a year ago to talk about their wedding Laura said something to me that stuck with me. She said when she was looking at a wedding I recently shot that she felt like she was there. Even though she didn't know the couple or anyone at the wedding, she felt like she knew what it was like to be there. That's when I knew that we were all on the same page. Greg & Laura not only understood what they wanted from their wedding photographer, but also what it was they wanted out of their wedding day in the experiences they wanted to have and the way they wanted to embrace the fullness of this occassion.

And I can say with full confidence, they achieved that and it was a remarkable experience to document a wedding where the bride & groom so fully embraced this vision and attitude.

After their wedding was over and I shared their images with them Laura sent me a message.

"Looking through the images from our wedding really showed us that we were living in that moment, living for that day.  You captured our emotions so honestly and beautifully - from our nervousness, to our tears of happiness, to our moments of pure joy and laughter. We wanted a story of our day and our love, and these images will warm our hearts forever. "

And that is why I do what I do.

Thanks to Aaron Phelps for second shooting with me, some of these images are from him.
